Fun at the park. :)

Enjoyed a gorgeous weekend. We played Mini putt on Saturday, no pics of that, I didn't want to lug around the camera. We went furniture shopping, then enjoyed Sandwiches at Arbys.

Reward Board

I love this thing :). We bought it about a month ago to support child find Canada. (they were selling them outside the grocery store). Its GREAT! I have tried before to make a similar chart but I am not crafty and they never worked for long. Wave LOVES this one so much, she puts up her stars after doing her chores, its helped her to learn the days of the week, its given her motivation etc etc. Love it!

A decorator I am not.

I am woman who likes to play to my strengths, lol. Decorting, NOT one of those strengths. I give it the Ol' college try, but really its beyond me. So I keep things simple and muted. Greens, nature colours, brown, lots of brown, Looks nice to me, and generally others compliment my "style" or lack there of , lol. (besides my mom who HATES brown, and has everything in her apartment painted blue ( I kid you not, plus bears... so many bears you have nightmares about bear attacks.... but I digress ;)).
We are moving and i have the daunting task of picking colors this weekend for the painters. ugh, I am trying to go out of my comfort zone I was thinking of a slate grey colour for the living, but those are the two (bottom two) paint samples i Liked, dark green, and not so dark green, lol.
WDYT? good for a living room, with a green and cream couch, and brown curtains, and rug.... geeze I am boring eh? ROFL.

Wave is a little more adventurous and has decided on PINK, not just pink, but PINK. Paint the world pink:).

Giving up her ballet slippers.

Well this week we said goodbye to dance class. Wave has been asking to stop for awhile :(. She went a good 7mths with no complaints but its lost its luster for her and for some reason (we seriously have NO IDEA where this came from), she wants to only do kung-fu.
She has gone to a few free trial classes, and she LOVES it. Its amazing, she listens to every word they say, and shes interested in it , in a way she truly never was in dance. So hey, I guess I have a little kung fu star :).

The story behind the mug. A couple yrs ago I saw a shirt on Rory Gilmore (gilmore girls), that I HAD to have. At the time I could not think of how to find out where to get the shirt, so I forgot about it. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, me rewatching the entire GG series, cause well, I do that from time to time, and again fixating on the shirt. So I google and google, and come up with the artist, as well as a site to order her stuff , shirt included YAY. The shirt is identical to this mug same colours and all. I hate to order clothes for myself online *in fact little known Stacy fact, I hate to order ANYTHING online, unless I absolutly have to*.
So instead of the shirt I went for this mug :). Its made out of 100% corn plastic and I think, is all kinds of awesomeness, :). Because we all know, Reading is Sexy.

A Girl and Her Clothes...

So those of you on my fbook, can probably see where this post is coming from, lol. But I am curious for those of you with 4-5 yr old girls (or boys I suppose). DO your kids care about what they wear?
Wave does. She has kinda shown interest periodically throughout the yrs but for the last fews months shes really been into it. She chooses %90 of what she wears, she has a certain style. to say the least and trying to get her to wear anything that she doesn;t like, will end well, lol.
I embrace this totally, shes an indiviual and she should be allowed to show that (with some restrictions.. as the yrs go on I am sure, lol).
Anways, someone on my fbook made a comment about how shes only 4 and she will like any style (or something to that affect), .... kinda making it seem like its all me and I should just buy her whatever .....
So I am wondering if I am the only one with a kid who won't just wear "whatever" at this age.

To Cut my hair or not to cut my hair...

I haven't cut or coloured my hair since Oct. I have no idea whats going on with my head right now, lol.
I had long hair (middle of my back and longer) my whole life until I was 21, then I chopped it all off. (think almost like Victoria Beckam, ). Since then its been a little longer then my chin, in various stayles, angled bob mostly.
Now.... well, this is it. The top pic , is my hair short in Oct. when I last had it cut and coloured, I hated the bangs and have decided to grow them out for sure. As for the rest.. I kinda want to keep growing it, but as per the one picture, I basically stick it in a pony tail and call it a day, lol.
So opinions PLEASE??? Would you give up growing it, and go back short, or try styling it differently and keep growing it? Wdyt?

the BEST bathing suit ever..

How could I not buy this bathing suit?? Seriously, it has her name on it, LOL. And AS SOON as she put it on she covered up the "catch A" and said "look its says ME", tee hee.
Love it.
Anyways, Old Navy has their suits on for $9, which is where I got this. H&M has some suits (not on sale ) for $6, I almost bought her one of those till, I saw this one. Oh and the shades are exactly the same as mine, shes SO proud of them, also from ON, $5.

ice Cream Truck

I have been hearing the ice cream truck from outside my window for a few weekends now, even heard it while out walking the dog a few times, but have never actually seen it. Tonight Wave and I decided to chase it down, just followed the crazy music about 3/4 of the way down our street (our street bends so we couldn't see it at first). I didn't even want ice cream, lol so I just got her a small cone, she loved it, as you can see ;).

brantford Zoo

Today was Wave's class trip to the Brantford Zoo. We had a great time! She loved the Camel's and the lamas. She didn't like the tarantula, lol.

That is the question! This sequence of pictures is ONE minute in the life of Waverly, while watching a tv show. She can't just sit and watch said show.. no... she must squirm and roll around the entire time, drive me crazy, lol!

We went shopping in Kensington Market, China Town and St Lawrence Market. I bought some of my favorite wine, and some stinky stinky cheese mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Happy Mother's Day to me :).

Is it just me or have school pics come a long way since we were kids ??? (well thos e of us that are over 30). Her first pics in Sept were ADORABLE, and these ones aren't half bad either. We couldn't order the first ones as we missed the deadline due to Wave having croup. So now yay!! I get school pics! pretty darn cute school pics!

79th Percentile!!!!! WOOT

I was soooo pleased to find out that Waverly is now in the 79th percentile for Weight. YESSSSSSSSSS. She's always been tall (93rd percentile for height) but shes stretchy, lol thin and lanky. For awhile she stayed in the 60's for weight, which is fine nothing to complain about ,but its nice to see her gain a little, shes clearly eating a lot lately (healthy foods, but seconds at meals, plus snacks , I just feel less worried about her right now :).
