Feeding the birds :)

A lazy Sunday afternoon :). Not too lazy, we walked for about an hr, but pretty lazy as we sat for at least an hr feeding the birds and letting the dog rest. Notice her new water bottle, love :).

coming up in two weeks.
Seeing how both other times we did the typical outdoor in nature pics (beautiful of course), we want to try something different this time. We got W a really cook punk ish (skater ish ) outfit and we want her pics to be "urban". We are looking for areas with old biuldings, graffiti, etc etc.
We LOVE uptown Waterloo but really only know the main streets, any help for ideas on places in that general area that would give a cool back drop to pics and not be over crowded with pics??

Or maybe you have another area (not too far from uptown Waterloo please as we travel by bus), that has that cool old urban feel...

Wave finally had her kung fu wall come in! YAY, she is in love with it, and it completes the room :).

Surprise Party and Wii fun.

YES! I did it! I managed to plan and throw P a surprise 35th bday party! Woot. Complete with Dairy Queen ice cream cake :), his fave. All the food was eaten , which is always the sign of a good party. It hits me , finally that most ppl probably make tried and true recipes, they have made before when they have a party of ppl coming over, but me, NOOOO, I made almost nothing that I had made before, all with a broken oven and nothing to fall back on, lol.

German potato salad, not exactly by recipe but close and to our personal liking (every recipe I found contained too much vinegar for our liking).
black bean salsa
spinach dip,
traditional greek salad
traditional (anchovies and coddled eggs and all) cesar salad
homemade spinach feta burgars, and southwest pasta salad, With loads of chips and burgers etc etc.
It was all stuff I had sneak past P, without him catching on, luckily me making loads O food for no reason is nothing new, so he suspected nothing, lol. haha. ( I think the fact that I could make 5 or 6 salads, 5 dips, and homemade burgars with him barely batting an I says A LOT and its probably not good LOL).

For his bday he got a Wii. W is VERY happy about this, and kids catch on to things so quickly , she has now played a total of 4 times and just bowled a 116, when he first game she bowled a 50.
haha, she will be kicking my ass soon :).

Potato Salad?? U has recipe?? ;)

haha, yeah recipe whoring on the blog. I have scoured loads of recipes online but trusted and true ones I would prefer. I think he would like a German potato salad the best, as it seems to always call for some mixture of skin on potatoes and bacon, lol. What man doesn't love bacon, well mine does anyways.

Spinach feta salmon burger, YUM, this is very easy to make, and tastes amazing.
and the best salad ever, its a mexican or southwest style pasta salad. This is mine homemade but I basically ate a lot of this unbeileable salad from Brady's Meat and Deli, and HAD to mimic it. Its always labelled greek pasta salad, LOL, its NOT greek, but it is DELISH. If you want to go in and try it, just ask for the bow tie pasta salad, be warned though it is spicey for a salad, I even add tumeric and cayanne to mine, b/c I like the spice. :)

Borken oven

Dude, I have no words for what a broken oven does to me.... Landlords are on vaca, and this does not consitute an emergency, so it will have to wait, another week. :( dude. *shakes head*

Luckily, I have a bbq, a rotisorre, and the stove top still works. Unlucky, thing is this is the weekend my mom is coming down, and expecting, Stacy's usual spread of homemade goodies...eeek. not this time mama.

So anyways, here's my broken oven food so far, lol. Lime/honey, garlic parm basted chicken fresh off the rotisorre, and buttscotch no bake marsh mellow squares.

Update on my shoulder

there is no pic I could think of to go with this, but as I posted awhile back I unfortunately tore my rotator cuff (ouch) about two weeks before we moved. Well, I had to go back to a walk in a couple days ago, b/c no one was getting back to me about physio or xrays etc. I was supposed to have them done but nothing was happening.. So the pain just got worse and worse.

Anyways..I went to a walk in , and the dr was disgusted with the pain I was left in and the treatment I received, and viola, I now have solid appts for massage therapy, physio and more xrays, also FINALLY a good anti inflammatory for my neck.... (and YAY to my husband having good medical coverage )
So thats where we're at, I am finally on some kind of a road to recovery and I no longer wake up in tears do to pain. YAY.

Date night with Daddy.

Lastnight was date night with daddy, (kids eat free at East Sides). So W got all dressed up to go out for dinner.

Here are some pics of her already to go (she even has a tiny bit of lipstick on). I wish I had brought the camera to the restaurant, she was soooo enthralled with her fancy cookie drink :). My meal was gross, but P and W's were good. Last time we went mine meal was fine but P's was disgusting. ugh East Sides. But anyways, it was a good night W loved meeting daddy at the restaurant she felt so special.

Gravey's fave thing to do ever is walk the dog, and yes that inculde throwing out her poop, lol. These are just a few shots of basically every night around here. We take a family walk every night after supper, its the daughters and the dogs fave time of the day :), ah my life will be a good one as long as I can end my day this way :).

A fun day, and my jealousy.

Like a lot off ppl in the heat these last few days, we have been swimming, a lot. So the one pic is of Wave relaxing in her bathing suit on the couch... looks comfy eh ;).
We have also been enjoying watching the little league baseball games across the street, Wave plays on the play ground and watches the game simultaneously, lol. Its cute, she gets right into it sometimes.

Then my jealousy....... PFFT, I feeling tanned, I know hard to believe, because I am still uber white, but really for me, thats pretty tanned, lol. Well, I was feeling tanned, then I looked at my kid. and there it is, my WHITE leg, and her tanned arm, and in fact thats not a great pic, b/c she is much more tan than it appears in that pic. So I took the last one with better light, and there she is all perfectly brown.... brat. tee hee

*disclaimer, I love my daughter no matter her colour, don't worry my jealousy will pass........ in dec.. or so ;)*

As of right now we have that picture of W and I on our wall collage, I wanted one of P and W to kinda match. So I took this one tonight, what do you think?? Cute enough to frame, does the fence really stick out? I could continue to try and crop it but I end up losing P's head a little bit, lol...

So we decided to not do our collage on the stairs, as our stairway just seems too narrow... I donno, it didn't look right.
So we did this instead. :).
It was quite a bit more work then I bargined for, lol, kinda like painting W's dresser and toy box, haha. But now that its done, I quite like it. Some pics are crooked in the pictures, they have since been fixed. We purposely have it a little closed in, so we can add in the future if we want to. I mean its not as wide as I would like it to be when its finished but its a good start.

Canada Day in Waterloo

Happy bday Canada :). This was our first time checking out the Universities festivities, and we had a blast. W got her face painted as Spiderman, we saw the waterloo kung fu academy, ate soft pretzels and enjoyed 5 hrs of fun :).

Missing cat

Waverly got up early this morning and went on the deck before we were awake, as shes been instructed NOT to do. Well, two hrs after being sent to her room for disobeying, etc. she says " oh when I went outside this morning, Vessa jumped down the big hole in our deck...."
Both of us went " WHAT", and she's all " yeah I haven't seen her since, blah blah blah", well thats great the indoor very timid cat, thats never been out, is now lost ....

So anyone in KW who is in the Winston Churchill school area, who knows how far she could get but please try and keep a look out, or if anyone mentions finding a stray cat, please let me know..
